Project Child Clinic Program Supervisor: Maryann Moller Project Child Clinic provides services to non-classified preschool children in order to enhance the development of speech and language, perceptual-motor skills, balance and coordination, attention for focusing, and overall behavior. Most children are seen in small groups. In all programs, the curriculum is individualized and determined by the needs of your individual child. A home program is provided to augment therapy for each child. Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in their child’s program through use of the home activities suggested by our staff. Clinic programs generally follow the Mercer County Special Services School District school calendar. In addition, services are available during the summer months. Project Child Clinic is a grant program funded by the Mercer County Department of Human Services. The Board of Chosen Freeholders has been most generous in our funding. However, rising programmatic costs have resulted in a nominal fee charged to those families directly receiving our services. The 2008-2009 fees for Project Child Clinic Programs are as follows: Summer Session: Monday, July 7th through Friday, August 15th
School Year Session: Monday, September 15th through Friday, June 12th
Payment is due the first session of the month. A Project Child Clinic staff member will be gathering information for scheduling and will be contacting you directly to confirm a day and time for your child’s session. In the event that our services are cancelled due to inclement weather or if a staff member cancels a session and cannot reschedule, the cost of that session will be prorated toward the following month. Please note that if a session or sessions are cancelled by the parent, you would still be financially responsible for that session. We at Project Child are concerned with the safety and well-being of all of our children. We fully understand that childcare for siblings is often difficult to arrange, making it necessary to bring additional children with you for your child’s scheduled session. We request that you closely supervise those children waiting with you. We suggest bringing “quiet time” activities to occupyyour children, such as workbooks, puzzles, coloring books, storybooks, etc. Children should stay with you and not be permitted to walk through the halls, enter classrooms, or play with the toys, equipment, and materials belonging to the school building. For safety purposes, parents (or the guardian accompanying your child to the Project Child Clinic Program) are required to remain on-site for the duration of the session. We trust that you share our concern and understand the importance of your cooperation. We hope that our Project Child Clinic services are a positive and pleasant experience for your child. Snacks are often used as reinforcers during sessions. Our snacks are often either pretzels or crackers. We appreciate parent input if there is a “special treat” that your child particularly enjoys. If you prefer, it would be fine to bring your own snacks. Please be sure to alert our staff to any dietary restrictions. © 1998-2008 Mercer County Special Services School District.
